We’re going to be hosting a Big Brew/Brewer’s Guild event Saturday, July 18 at Hairy Cow Brewing. The club will be brewing 15 gallons of an imperial stout that will eventually be bottled/canned and donated to Screw City Beer Festival later this year.
If you are new brewing or have been thinking about entering the hobby, this event is perfect to attend. You can come and watch a batch of beer brewed from start to finish, talk to the brewers, look at all their equipment, and pick up a lot of good advice. You can come and hang out for just a couple of hours or stay for the whole time.
Any members that are interested in bringing their own brew setup and brewing as well, are more than welcome. There is a lot of space outside at the brewery and we’ll have access to electricity and water for chilling. I would plan on bringing your own chiller and hoses though. If you do plan on brewing, please give one of the officers a heads up. Brewers can show up as early as 10 am to set up their gear.
We will also have some homebrew on tap for free sampling. We will have additional tap space too, so if you have a keg that you would like to bring to share, let us know. You may also bring homebrew in growlers/bottles to share as well.
This is an outdoor event and will be rain or shine as of right now. We’ll have tents setup for shade and possible rain protection. You’re more than welcome to bring your chairs or blankets to lounge out on the lawn too.
Hairy Cow has amazing brick oven pizzas if you get hungry. And don’t forget to grab a couple of crowlers on your way out.
